BUAH BUTON PADA RUMAH RAMLAH DI LUAK TANAH MENGANDUNG, NEGERI SEMBILAN: LAMBANG KESOPANAN DALAM MENYANTUNI TETAMU BERDASARKAN SISTEM KEPIMPINAN ADAT PERPATIH THE BUAH BUTON AT RUMAH RAMLAH IN LUAK TANAH MENGANDUNG, NEGERI SEMBILAN: A SYMBOL OF HOSPITALITY IN ACCOMMODATING GUESTS BASED ON THE ADAT PERPATIH LEADERSHIP SYSTEM

Abstract

Konsep meraikan tetamu sudah menjadi simbolik dalam kalangan pemimpin dunia ketika yang menjadi tuan rumah dan buah buton merupakan elemen yang tidak terkecuali dari konsep tersebut. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubung kait buah buton dalam menyantuni tetamu berdasarkan sistem Adat Perpatih yang berkaitan dengan konteks kepimpinan. Dua kaedah digunapakai bagi mencapai objektif kajian. Pertama, kajian lapangan yang mensasarkan rumah Ramlah di Luak Tanah Mengandung, Negeri Sembilan sebagai sampel penyelidikan utama. Kaedah kedua, melibatkan temu bual tiga informan masingmasing dalam kategori penduduk tempatan, penyelidik Adat Perpatih dan pengamal adat Minangkabau. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa buah buton mempunyai kaitan dengan meraikan tetamu. Kedudukan buah buton yang tergantung di bahagian tangga rumah menjadi simbolik terhadap perwatakan seorang pemimpin dalam melayani tetamu mereka dengan penuh adab dan sopan. Oleh itu, pengkaji mencadangkan agar buah buton dapat dijadikan sebagai elemen dekorasi yang berilmiah dalam sistem pendidikan negara agar generasi muda menghargai seni warisan Adat Perpatih.

The concept of celebrating guests has become symbolic among world leaders when they host, and buah buton is an element that is not excluded from the concept. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between buah buton and the context of hospitality in the Adat Perpatih system, which is related to the context of leadership. Two methods are used to achieve the objective of this article: firstly, a field study that targets Ramlah's house in Luak Tanah Mengandung, Negeri Sembilan as the main research sample. Meanwhile, the interview method involves three informants consisting of local community members, Adat Perpatih researchers, and practitioners of Minangkabau customs. Based on both of these methods, it shows that the buah buton is also related to celebrating guests. The position of the buah buton hanging in the rumah tangga is symbolic of a leader's character in serving their guests with manners and courtesy. Therefore, this article suggests that the buah buton can be used as an educational decoration in
the national education system for the future of the younger generation.
